OOTD (From earlier in December)

Hello lovelies!

I am back and as per usual, life has run away with me again! Since I was last able to post, I lost one of my part time jobs due to the company moving to America and was left having to find something else. This, all before Christmas and while still unpacking bits from moving. Whilst looking for work, I checked the Lush website in hopes of there being a shop opening up in Canterbury (the closest bigger city to where I live) and my jaw dropped to the floor, there was! After a series of interviews, I got the job and went through the most fun and interesting training week ever, full of Christmas, skin and hair care training complete with loads of products to test out. Stay tuned on here as I have lots of things to tell you about what I have learned and if you are curious about Lush or what you could use from them feel free to message me with questions!

I had to go down to London to meet the team for the Lush shop, which hadn’t opened, so almost the entire staff were new and all getting to know each other. I wanted to wear something friendly but that would also show off my fancy purple hair which I am still in love with.  I chose this little get up, digging out a couple of old favourites to pull it all together.

I am wearing:

Star tshirt – Torrid (several years old)

Mauve Cardi – Primark (currently available for £6!)

Black slim leg jeans rolled up – Marks and Spencers

Mustache Flats – Primark (Liverpool)

Now that I will be working regularly and getting back on track, I hope to share more OOTD with you and do a couple of Lush reviews too!

Stay tuned for a Christmas special with Simply Be!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! XO

A Lilac Surprise!

Hello again!

So I told you yesterday that I was making a major hair change today and boy did I deliver or what?!

I went into this lovely little local salon called Teresa’s a week or so ago asking for a lilac/grey colour similar to what Kelly Osbourne has been sporting lately. In the quest to grow my hair long I need to keep it interesting otherwise I will give up and chop it all off again.  So a week after my initial consultation, I went back to see my student stylist Chloe. Not only did she give the most awesome lilac/grey hair but she also styled it a la Tracy Turnblad from Hairspray! Let’s just put these two things together for one second and enjoy them (photos courtesy of 2 second google search – I don’t own them):

Yes, they are amazing! I am so happy with how it turned out and am enjoying my big hair while it lasts because I’m not sure I am skilled enough with a comb to recreate this awesome style.

Now, let me share my outfit of the day with you!

Today I wore a shirt that picked up at a swap, it’s baby pink with shoes and purses on it (there is no brand on the inside sorry!)

Cardigan – Uniqlo (super old collection)

Jeans – M&S Bootcut (I roll the cuffs up)

Belt – Primark (From last year)

Flats – Primark (they are studded!)

The shirt print – there are purses too, I promise!

More hair! I am obsessed!

The back in all it’s Bouffant style!

Primark Studded Flats:

And here are two products I didn’t think I would need for least another 25 years!!!

What do you all think, have I lost my mind? I am crazy for this lilac colour and it will calm and become softer as it wears and I think I will love it all the way through.

Toodaloo Katie… Who’s Toodaloo Katie???

Hiya!

So although I have been very bad with posting lately, I promise it was for a very good reason. For the last 8 months or so, I have had such a life overhaul that I was feeling a bit sans style if you know what I mean. I really didn’t feel like anything in my closet meant anything to me and a lot of my clothes didn’t fit the same after I walked The Camino as my body had changed. I wasn’t feeling like myself and it didn’t feel right to throw that all down here because that is not who or how I am. Thank you to everyone who has continued to visit and read, I can see you there and I do appreciate you all sticking with me!

The good news is that Curvy Katie is being re-launched as Toodaloo Katie!  Toodaloo Katie is the name of my jewellery and accessories company that I have been running out of my many homes since the beginning of high school and I think it sounds more like me. I think I have outgrown Curvy Katie and hopefully will be able to offer you more fun stuff, including lots of OOTD, reviews of products and companies and plenty of homemade creations (up for sale at the beginning of the summer).

You can now change any links you might have saved from the old address (www.curvykatie.wordpress.com) to www.Toodalookatie.com – I am a real website now – how exciting!

I feel like I have a new fresh style and I can’t wait to share it with you. Helping me with  all of these big changes and daily blog fun is my most excellent boyfriend, Steveo, who is an amazing photographer and web/graphic designer. (If you are looking for someone with the above skills then check out his website linked.)

To celebrate all this news, I want to share a little discount code with you for a new favourite shop of mine, AX Paris – Curve Collection. I will be doing a review for them shortly but until then you should check out Pocket Rocket Fashion’s super cute review of the adorable heart print dress!  For this week only, with the code CURVE you get 20% off the Curve collection at AX Paris.

I can’t wait to get started again and to show you all my new things – be back as soon as I can!!

Paz Torras: A brand worth keeping an eye on.

Hello my lovely readers!

As this month has been a crazy mishmash of work and fun, I have been neglecting my blog a little  so I am sorry for that – please forgive me! In one of my previous posts on Pret a Porter Paris, I mentioned a brand that I discovered while back in Toronto (at Lola and Gigi) called Paz Torras. I purchased a winter jacket from them that I absolutely love. For me, winter outerwear is always difficult to find because I want something that is warm enough for Canada, doesn’t have really long arms (like most ski/snowboard jackets), and that doesn’t make me look like a marshmallow. In my mind those don’t seem like big requests but when I went out in search of a coat I found out quickly that these were in fact tall orders, until I found this jacket from a Spanish company called Paz Torras.

It’s an Apres Ski style jacket with a poofy collar that hides a rolled up hood for when it snows unexpectedly. It has a long zipper as well as a button flap over the zipper to keep the wind out and a great elastic belt that is comfortable and doesn’t cut you in two.

I love the shiny blue colour, the belt that give the jacket a real shape, the decent sized pockets and of course the details of the black vinyl piping on all the seams.

Paz Torras is not a plus size company persay as they don’t make all of their outfits in plus sizes. However, they have certain pieces that go up to a EUR52. I am wearing a EUR50 and

I have wiggle room in the jacket still so I can layer if ever necessary. The company, for the moment seems to sell only in boutiques as their site doesn’t seem to be made for everyday purchasing, only buyers from stores. I really hope they will launch more into the plus size world as I’m confident they would do really well!

The only place that I know of to buy Paz Torras is through Lola and Gigi – as their store locator doesn’t actually locate stores and is all in Spanish.

I hope you are all enjoying the end of the winter season, in Paris it has been getting warmer and warmer and feeling like Spring!

OOTD: That’s Miss Charlie Chaplin to you…

Hiya! So thanks to the amazing Gaelle from Les Pitreries de Vanoue I have a few super fun shots of my girly Charlie Chaplin look for you.

The outfit is a mix of old, new and borrowed and it’s one of my favourites to wear.

Polka dot cardigan- Gap (old collection)

Tank top – Old navy

Jeans – Second Yoga (these are amazing!)

Boots- Evans (on sale during PlusLondon!)

Hat – Le Chateau (Canada – old collection)

Purse – Primark

Umbrella – borrowed from Gaelle and originally from Primark

I am rather enjoying this bizarre bit of Spring weather we have been having and now that I have a pair of jeans that actually fit properly and are versatile, I have been wearing them a lot more. It’s a shame I can’t wear this hat all day – it cures a bad hair day instantly!

Take care my lovelies!

SimplyBe gets classy NYC style: Check out their lookbook!

Hey all! I wanted to share with you the SimplyBe lookbook because, first of all, I am completely in love with the pink shirt in the first photo, and second, I am loving all of the looks in the pictures. I really like that there is a mix of work wear and going out styles and they haven’t forgotten comfortable weekend chill out wear. I’ve just recently started working a 9-5 office job, so I am in the process of doing a closet overhaul, that involves a need for major classy ‘you can tell I work in an office because of my pencil skirt’ wear. It’s all very exciting! You can check out the entire LookBook for SimplyBe right here!!!
